The method of slow cooking food on a BBQ originated in the Caribbean and has now spread in the whole wide world. The slow cooking makes the meat tender and juicy at the same time. The meat is first marinated in a melange of spices and is then barbequed till perfection. It induces a smoky flavour in the dish and doesn’t require much culinary cuisine. Ingredients of BBQ Chicken
- 2 pounds chicken
- 1 cup yoghurt (curd)
- 2 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 tablespoon vinegar
- salt as required
- 3 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon cumin powder
- 1/2 cup cilantro
- 8 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoon paprika powder
How to make BBQ Chicken
- Prepare the chickenFirstly wash and pat dry the chicken properly. Make some vertical slits in the chicken to help it absorb the marinade well. Pour the lemon juice on it and rub well. Keep it in a bowl.
2. Prepare the marinadeNow in a big bowl, add yoghurt, cumin powder, coriander powder, cilantro, turmeric, minced garlic, vinegar, black pepper powder, salt, paprika powder and mix well using a whisk. The marinade should be smooth and thick.
3. Coat the chickenNow add the chicken pieces into the marinade and coat it well. Set it aside for 6 hours or overnight. Meanwhile, preheat your BBQ or grill.
4. Get grillingNow just cook the chicken well by grilling it on the barbeque for 30-40 minutes. You can either use an outdoor BBQ or an indoor grilling plate for the same.
5. Ready to be servedOnce done, your smoky BBQ chicken is ready to be served.
